Room 8 made ice cream in a bag
Did you know you can make homemade ice cream in a bag in less than 10 minutes with just milk, salt and ice? You don’t even need a freezer!!
You will need:
- A large bag of ice
- A tablespoon sugar and some food colouring – optional
- Ziploc bags
- Box/tea towel
How we have made it:
We were pouring a cup of milk into a Ziploc bag, adding the sugar and some blue food colouring. We were checking if the bag is properly sealed. Next, we were filling a box with ice and adding a good amount of salt. Second, we were putting the milk bag into the ice bag and giving it a good shake. After 5 minutes, we were checking the milk, and, surprise, the milk was a similar consistency of ice cream.
What’s going to be next?
We were thinking to place a mixture of ice and salt in a freezer to investigate whether it freezes or not.
